New Translation and Interpretation Service to Enhance Patient Care

Ottawa, ON – Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) is excited to announce the launch of a new video translation and interpretation service, designed to foster inclusive care and elevate patient experience. The innovative tool, Voyce, will provide real-time translation and interpretation through tablets, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care, regardless of language barriers.

 

Voyce connects patients and healthcare providers with certified, specially-trained medical interpreters, who are available to assist in over 240 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL). This advanced service will help QCH meet the needs of a diverse patient population, offering fast and efficient communication across a wide range of languages.

 

Key features of the Voyce service include:

    • Easy to use: Simple and user-friendly tablet interface, making it easy for patients and staff to connect with interpreters.
    • Fast access to most languages: Quick and reliable access to a wide range of languages with service level agreements (SLA) ensuring timely support.
    • Over 240 languages: Including ASL, ensuring communication for a broad spectrum of patients.
    • Group calling: Allows for multiple parties to be included in the call, enhancing collaboration and communication across departments.
