Our team of healthcare professionals at Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH) is here to provide information, care and support to you and your care partner(s) throughout your surgical journey. Your surgical journey begins with a visit to the Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic (POAC) about 3-6 weeks before your planned operation. On the day of your operation you will be coming to the Day Surgery Unit (DSU) where the Nurse will prepare you for your operation. From the DSU you will be taken to the Operating Room (OR) and after the operation you will wake up in the Post Anesthetic Care Unit (PACU) also known as Recovery Room. Depending on the type of operation, you may go home the same day or be admitted to a hospital bed.
If you are coming for an assessment for a total hip or knee replacement you will find your information on the Champlain MSK Care here.
Privacy, safety and quality of care are our priorities. Our team is here to answer your questions.
Patients at QCH are encouraged to SPEAK UP. We know that if you participate in decisions about your own care, you are likely to have a more positive experience.
