The Skin and Soft Tissue Infection Clinic (SSTIC) is located in the Ambulatory Care Department on level 1 of the hospital (the basement). SSTIC patients are seen by QCH Infectious Disease Physicians and nursing staff for consultation and care of various infections; most typically skin and soft tissue in nature.

Referrals and appointments:

SSTIC receives referrals primarily from the QCH Emergency Department, and some referrals directly from the Infection Disease and Medical Team.

Appointments for referred patients are booked by the QCH Ambulatory Care Patient Scheduling Team. Patients who have a Connected Care Patient Portal account will see their booked appointments in their Patient Portal.

New referrals from the Emergency Department should expect a call from SSTIC within one business day:

    • Each morning, the Infectious Disease Physician reviews new referrals and based on urgency, they direct our Scheduling Clerk when to book each appointment.
    • That same morning, our Scheduling Clerk will call patients and provide them with the appointment time for later that afternoon, or within the timeframe requested by the Infectious Disease Physician.

Contact the clinic:

Phone: 613-721-4788 and follow the prompts.

Phonelines are staffed daily from 8 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (excluding weekends and stat holidays). If your call is not answered, please leave a message and the Scheduling Clerk will return your call.

Hours of operation:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
