About the Orthopedic Clinic (Ortho Clinic):
The Queensway Carleton Hospital Orthopedic Clinic is a specialized out-patient nursing unit where pre-booked patients are provided with care related to their musculoskeletal injuries or surgeries. The patient care provided in the Clinic ranges from cast applications and revisions, postoperative assessments, dressing changes, and suture removal, to minor surgical procedures under local freezing and closed fracture reduction.
The Orthopedic Clinic is part of the Ambulatory Care group of clinics but is located on the Main Floor of the Hospital (Level 2).
Referral and appointments:
QCH Orthopedic Surgeons have time in this clinic on rotating schedules to see their patients.
Outside referrals and ‘walk-ins’ are not accepted.
Patients wanting to be seen by an Orthopedic Surgeon must have their primary care doctor or specialist send a referral directly to the outside office of an individual surgeon.
Orthopedic Clinic patients can expect a call from our Patient Scheduling Clerk with appointment details. Patients who have a Connected Care Patient Portal account will also see their booked appointments in their Patient Portal.
Clinic Contact information:
Phone: 613-721-4788; follow the call-tree options.
The phones are answered Mondays – Fridays. The clerk can be busy on another call or with a patient so please leave a message and someone will return your call.
If you experience worsening symptoms before your booked appointment, seek medical attention at an Emergency Dept.; use 911 for emergencies
Hours of operation:
Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays: 7:30am – 3:30pm
Closed on Weekends and Statutory Holidays. Note: the clinic can also be closed intermittently as we align with doctor schedules.
