Dr. Susan Thorne
Dr. Susan Thorne BSc. MD, FRCSC is the current Department Chief of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Medical Director of the Maternal Newborn Program at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa. Dr. Thorne attended Medical School and her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
Following this she completed The Fellowship in Advanced Pelvic Surgery at the University of Toronto at St. Michael's Hospital under Dr. Guylaine Lefebvre. She then returned to Ottawa to open her Obstetrics and Gynecology practice at Queensway Carleton Hospital. She has a large Obstetrical practice and in her Gynecologic practice concentrates on surgical gynecology, specifically minimally invasive surgery and genital prolapse.

Dr. Douglas Cochen
Dr. Douglas Cochen completed his undergraduate training at Queen’s University at Kingston, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Life Science. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa in 1997. He did a Gynecology Surgery Fellowship at the University of Ottawa before going into practice full-time at Queensway Carleton Hospital.
Dr. Cochen is a Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. He is involved in resident education, and OSCE examinations. He is certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He served as President of the Medical Staff at Queensway Carleton Hospital from 2007-2009. In 2014 he became the inaugural Chief Medical Information Officer of Queensway Carleton Hospital and strives to improve care by facilitating adoption of technology.
Dr. Cochen participated in a pilot project with BORN Ontario to adapt the Ontario Antenatal record to the electronic environment and he volunteers as a member of the Enhanced Ontario Antenatal Record Work Group of the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health to improve the Ontario Antenatal record.

Dr. Chris Farrell
After graduating from, Queens University School of Medicine, Dr. Farrell went on to complete, the obstetrics and gynaecology program at The University of Western Ontario. During his residency, he completed an elective in gynaecology oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, NYC.
After the closure of the birth unit at The Grace Hospital, Dr. Chris Farrell joined the newly established, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, at Queensway Carleton Hospital.
Dr. Farrell's primary focus is general obstetrics and gynecology. He is a member of The Maternity Care Committee, at Queensway Carleton Hospital.
He is married to Theresa, has two daughters and two rescue dogs. His eldest daughter, is a 4th generation graduate of Queens University School of Medicine.
Dr. Farrell's interests include hiking, traveling, and watching football and hockey.

Dr. Lucyna Anderson
Dr. Lucyna Anderson has been on the staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Queensway Carleton Hospital since 2000.
She is a graduate of the Bialystok Medical School in Poland and did her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Saskatchewan.
Dr. Anderson is certified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is a member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC), the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), the Canadian Medical Association (CMA), the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and the Society of Canadian Colposcopists (SCC).
Dr. Anderson has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa since 2006 and is involved in medical education and the training of residents.
She has a special interest in obstetrics, colposcopy and laparoscopic gynecological surgeries. Her office is located in Kanata. She has two sons and enjoys cross-country skiing, sailing, and travelling.

Dr. Paul Legault
Dr. Paul Legault is a life long Ottawa native. He completed his medical school and residency at the University of Ottawa. He started his specialty practice working at the Salvation Army Grace Hospital. In1999, he was one of the founding obstetricians of the new QCH Childbirth Centre. He is the former Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at QCH and has completed the CMA Physician Management Institute Leadership Program. He has delivered over 10,000 babies and has an interest in the surgical treatment of gynaecological conditions.

Dr. Lynn Shepherd
Dr. Lynn Shepherd received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Honours Physiology from McGill University and her medical degree from Queen’s University. She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Queen’s University and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2010.
Dr. Shepherd is committed to helping her patients make well informed choices about their health care. In her gynecology practice, she is an advocate of minimally invasive surgery to reduce peri-operative pain and recovery time. She is the current medical director of the Dysplasia Clinic at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. Dr. Shepherd also has a full obstetrics practice focused on providing patient-centered care for women and their partners as they expand their family.

Dr. Allison McKinnon
Allison McKinnon is originally from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Upon completing her medical school, Dr. McKinnon went on to do a residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Ottawa.
She is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Dr. McKinnon joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queensway Carleton Hospital in 2013.
When she is not working she enjoys being outside spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Dr. Sunita Lal
Dr. Sunita Lal received her Bachelor of Science with Honours (SSP Life Sciences) from Queen's University in 1992. She graduated with her medical degree (MD) from Queen's University in 1996 and was awarded the Mylks Medal in Obstetrics.
At medical school, she developed an avid interest in the health and well being of women. She pursued her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Ottawa and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2001.
After graduation, Dr. Lal received a Millenium Scholarship to complete further training in colposcopy. She provided obstetrical care in various underserviced areas of Canada before opening her practice at Queensway Carleton Hospital in 2003.
Dr. Lal has an active general obstetrics and gynaecology practice. Her areas of gynaecologic interest include medical and surgical management of abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception and menopause.

Dr. Nadine Doris
Dr. Nadine Doris received her Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the McGill University in 2004 and her medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2009.
She then completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2015.
Dr. Doris has a general obstetrics and gynecology practice at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. She is actively involved in medical education and training at the undergraduate level at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Nasser Beshara
Nasser Beshara, MBBCH, MD, FRCSC – Dr. Beshara completed his specialty training in obstetrics and gynaecology and an extra year of training in advanced pelvic surgery at the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the staff at Queensway Carleton Hospital, Dr. Beshara worked as a locum Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in underserved communities in Ontario. Dr. Kelly Goodwin
Dr. Kelly Goodwin completed her Honours Bachelor of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University in Kinesiology. She then moved back to her hometown of Ottawa to complete medical school and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Ottawa. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2015.
For the first three years of her career, Dr. Goodwin practiced at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital. During this time her practice was primarily focused on low risk Obstetrics and benign gynecology with a special interest in colposcopy and vulvar disease.
Dr. Kelly Goodwin is bilingual in English and French. She enjoys traveling and has volunteered in Tanzania, Thailand and Brazil. She has two young daughters and loves spending time with her family at the cottage or on the ski hill.
