Expected length of your stay at the Childbirth Program

The length of your stay will depend on the type of delivery you had. If you had a vaginal birth, you can expect to stay in the hospital from 24 to 36 hours after delivery. If you had a Caesarean birth, you may stay 48 to 60 hours after delivery. During this time, you will be seen by your healthcare provider or the on-call Physician. You will also be provided with information and teaching about yourself and the care of your baby.
