Support people in your labour
The role of your partner or support person is to actively participate in your care and help provide the support that you and your baby need during your labour, delivery and your stay on the Mother Baby Unit.
While in the Birth Unit in labour, you are welcome to have your partner and two other support people to provide support. This may include a Doula if you choose to employ those services. We kindly ask that your partner and support people use the public washrooms located in the waiting area rather than the patient bathroom and that they bring their own drinks and snacks if needed, as the food provided by the hospital is for patients only.
For more information about visiting hours and the number of visitors allowed in the different areas of the Childbirth Program, please see
